"We requested a non-smoking, downstairs room, but received a smoking, second floor one next to a very noisy freeway. Had to call the desk clerk to ask for a totally missing lightbulb for one of the two lamps. The remote for the T. V. didn't work unless it was programed with a secret code. I didn't realize that it would need programing each time, so ended up without the convenience of a remote; however, the television had a nice sized screen. We had no hairdryer nor coffeemaker plus no small refrigerator or microwave. No continental breakfast, but delicious free coffee downstairs. The rooms have been redone nicely, but the elevator and stairways haven't been redone. The owner or manager came by to see if everything was fine, so things may get better. The motel was close to Burger King & Taco Bell. The price was low for California. Guess the old saying that you get what you pay for is correct. I'd spend more to get more amenities if given the chance. The outside looked great, wish the inside did, too."
